DSC06177As GEW got underway in Malaysia, students at the Tanarata International School presented the Week’s activities. They were joined by Mr Michael Levin, the Entrepreneur-in-Residence, at his first stop in what was a busy first day, culminating in the ‘Unleash the Week’ event at 4pm.

The Business Studies students gave two presentations: the first on their GEW 2008 activities, and the second on their 2009 GEW activity, interviewing entrepreneurs, followed by an entertaining and interactive sharing session by Mr Michael Levin on his experiences as an entrepreneur through the years.

Mr Levin shared with the students some of the important elements that shape a successful entrepreneur. Some of the lessons the students learnt from the session:

  • Entrepreneurs always find a problem and derive value from seeking solutions to it, and struggle to make it happen
  • Entrepreneurs should dare to fail, as failure is just another word for Experience
  • Entrepreneurs should keep gaining knowledge
  • Entrepreneurs should keep pushing boundaries and trying new things

The students had plenty of questions for Mr Levin and the session ended with a thank you note from Dash, the CEO of Warisan Global, the Malaysian Country Host.  GEW 2009 in Malaysia looks set to be an exciting and buzzing week!
