Several Indonesian universities are joining in the activities for Global Entrepreneurship Week, including Tunggadewi Tribuana University, Airlangga University, North Sumatra University, University of Ciputra, and State University of Yogyakarta.

The Economist recently stated that ‘the latest GEM global report gives Japan the lowest score for entrepreneurship of any big country’ and that the country’s policies encouraged ‘”replicative” rather than “innovative” behaviour’. However, the GEW events in Tokyo took off on Monday with a positive wide presentation of ‘Japan’s Entrepreneur Scene’.

As GEW got underway in Malaysia, students at the Tanarata International School presented the Week’s activities. They were joined by Mr Michael Levin, the Entrepreneur-in-Residence, at his first stop in what was a busy first day, culminating in the ‘Unleash the Week’ event at 4pm.

Global Entrepreneurship Week Malaysia got off to a flying start in Kuala Lumpa on Monday, hosted by Pulse Group PLC and Warisan Global, the Malaysian country host for GEW in Malaysia. The launch was officiated by Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and patron of GEW 2009 Malaysia, and Mr. Michael Levin, Entrepreneur-in-Residence from the Kauffman Foundation of Entrepreneurship.
