It began Monday, Nov. 16 with a Pecha Kucha Night, in which several entrepreneurs gave very brief presentations. Pecha Kucha is a presentation format meant to be quick, efficient and easily understood for the audience.

Today, the British Council in Indonesia is awarding a grant-based investment fund worth 50,000 pounds sterling (US$ 83,613.8) in 2010. The grant will be given to 30 Indonesian entrepreneurs, and it aims to alleviate the nation’s inadequate capital, as well as to help social entrepreneurs develop their businesses.

Also on Wednesday, Reggy Hasibuan, the co-founder of Anomali Youth Empowerment Center in Malang, East Java, will make a presentation of his project to turn Malang into an eco-city. Eco-cities often call upon their citizens to live and work in a way that’s conscious of the environmental impact.

On Sunday, aspiring entrepreneurs will see presentations from environmental engineer Yuyun Ismawati, scientist Hokky Situngkir, social entrepreneur Silverius Oscar Unggul and Sasando player Jacko Hendrick Ayub Bulan, at an event called the TEDx Jakarta.
